Randy S. Koontz, WMS℠

Managing Partner, Senior Wealth Advisor

Randy Koontz is a wealth management specialist and an original founder of Pinnacle Wealth Management, with more than 35 years of experience in financial services. He helps clients with wealth preservation, investment management, retirement planning, estate and tax planning, and business valuation strategies.

After seeing the shortcomings of traditional buy-and-hold investing, Randy and his business partner, Scott Shepherd, developed the Market Adaptive methodology—an approach designed to limit losses during extended market downturns. He has since partnered with Aptus Capital Advisors to integrate their hedged strategies into client portfolios.

Before joining Raymond James in 2006, Randy worked at Morgan Stanley and A.G. Edwards & Sons. He studied financial management and real estate at the University of Arkansas and played on the 1984 NAIA National Championship football team at the University of Central Arkansas.

A Charleston, Arkansas native, Randy lives in Rogers with his wife, Deanna. They have four grown children—Meredith (and son-in-law Nathan), Megan, Matthew, and Mallory. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, hunting, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
